Yes...wouldn't you know it. We were all set for our first week-long vacation to the beach and we all got sick.
We haven't had a family vacation ever, and Matt and I have not been away for a real vacation, just the two of us, now three of us, since our honeymoon. We were looking forward to that feeling you get on day three when you know you have a few more days of vacation left and relaxation starts to set it. But -- we're here, at home.
Matt and I had sinus and ear infections. But a couple of shots and antibiotics helped us right away. Ella, however, was diagnosed with some virus that came with special friends, fever, diarrhea and sore throat. One doc-in-the box visit, one emergency room trip, several outings to the pharmacy and several phone calls to the pediatrician later, we finally seem to be getting the upper hand.
The good news is, we starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Ella ate two pancakes this morning and wanted to go for a walk outside. It's finally chilly here and feeling more like fall.
So we come to terms with our situation and so I sent Matt to Home Depot yesterday with a list of supplies we need for projects around the house. Fun, fun!
Saturday, if Ella continues on the downhill side of this mess, we're planning on going to a pumpkin patch with Babci, Granddad, Uncle Rob, Aunt Steph and Emma. We'll post pictures, hopefully.
