Daddy noticed our neighbors' house was all decked out with lights so he made a mad dash to Home Depot to stock up on outdoor lights. Ella was happy to oblige when Daddy requested her help in stringing the red and white lights on our "popsicle" bushes out front. Mommy's friend Gerin says the bushes make our home look like something out of Whoville. And now that they're all lit up -- we have to agree. And now, inspired by a competitive nature or not, the sprit of Christmas is living in us all. God Bless Us, Everyone. Wait -- that's another holiday story.

She is so adorable and getting so big!
I'm convinced that nothing helps us get our lights up and house decorated faster than seeing our neighbors string up their Christmas lights. It's not so much a competitive thing as it is - wow - their place looks GREAT ... we can make ours look great, too!!
Of course it always kills us when after we spend hours decorating, two days later half of our lights go out and for the life of us, we cannot figure out which strand is the culprit. That's usually when we start drinking large quantities of egg nog & brandy.
OK, I'm getting nervous ... I knew you were going to Georgia for the holidays, but it's Jan. 9 ... update this blog already! :-)
