We found a nice toad resting on the edge of our planter on the back deck the other day. Ella was fascinated...and at the same time a little bit afraid to touch him.
We talked about all the animals coming out of their long winter rest and warming up in the sun. We told her the frog probably lived in Mommy's pansies and we could not take him inside, he preferred to be outdoors.
With a little encouragement, and after Mommy went first, she touched frog and observed, "he's sticky!"
